Creating a Ritual to Review Your Year

As you hang the 2016 calendar and throw away 2015, it is a symbolic ending and beginning that causes us to pause, for just a moment.  What did 2015 mean for you?  What did you create?  And, what can you celebrate....
Hot Pink YOUniversity invites you to create a ritual to review your 2015.

Take a moment and think back, month by month....what was happening?  What did you learn about yourself and about the world?  What feelings did you create?  What did you manifest for yourself?
As you think of these for yourself....Hot Pink YOUniversity will exemplify the ritual we invite you to create.

January launched the very first Woman on Fire:  7 steps to Reignite Passion, Purpose and Play.  We combined everything that we knew to be true academically and personally into this 6 month intensive program.  We felt nervous, excited and humbled as we began the work that felt like birthing.  Birthing our ideas into the world and hoping the world would treat those ideas kindly and that the program itself would be an incredible start for women to live a life that felt on fire and out loud!

February was the second annual Wiggin' Out event!  Our goal of doubling our contribution was a success, as a letter from the Women's Warrior Fund was shared with a crowd of pink wig clad women!  All of the work that goes into an event like this totally worthwhile.  2016 the event will be held once again at Karen's Wines and Steins on February 25th.  Can't wait!

March was magical! Our first ever Camp WOW:  Wild Outloud Women!  This was a powerful weekend as women dove in deep to create their She-roes and share their shame stories to transform them into what made them who they are today.  Passions were cultivated and a slumber party was created, making this one of our favorite activities to date!

April, the women in Hayward, Wisconsin were rocked by Hot Pink as we met for the day with the Childcare Resource Center staff and worked on developing a supportive and creative work environment for those women doing important things in their community.  Self-care tools and communication strategies were shared!  Some of our favorite work is bringing out the best for women at work and creating dynamic and personalized retreats and workshops for those that contact us.

May was all about celebrating as mammas!  Manifesting the Mother's Day we desired and spending time with our kiddos.  As well as preparing for two incredible events...Power of Play, Summer Day Camp for Women and registering women who said a powerful YES! to travel with us to India in the fall.

June...our last Soup and Soulfood of the year!  Little did we know the gathering in the park would be our last of the year, as what came next were changes and transformations of our own.  Joanne Harrison shared her powerful story and journey with us as she glowed in white standing on our hot pink carpet.  Then moved into our Power of Play Summer Day Camp for Women.  New faces and familiar joined our fun!  This is a huge event to get organized, but so full of fun!  As women we deserve to play.  Campfires, pontoon rides, dress up and story-telling.

In July, we gathered our Woman on Fire graduates and offered them another powerful 6 months to continue their work with Hot Pink...And they said yes!  Yes to stepping into their power.  Yes to self-care!  Yes to dreaming big and living out loud!

August in Madison resulted in finishing our book!  3 years in the making...we have a completed manuscript and take on the big, "now what?".  As we navigate the publishing world to get our message and work out there for as many people as possible.  Our Summer of Pleasure participants finished out work on creating more pleasure in their lives.  We launched our Hot Pink Meet Up in Madison and bathed in gratitude of the tribe that made it down for this event.  You take a risk whenever you put yourself out there and are visible...It is always worth the growth and gratitude.

September was filled with personal transformations as Christie bought a house in Madison, making the move permanent! And Ann took on growth in her psychotherapy practice.

October, the Art Tour tradition lived on and another launch of CampWOW, where Woman on Fire participants showcased their talents and gifts for the women who joined us.  This hot, hot weekend allowed us to open up in new ways as women through the Art of Giving and Receiving playshop, finding our passions, connecting with nature and deepening connections with others.

Hot Pink YOUniversity created the vibe of the tribe in India in November.  From spiritual awakenings on the Ganges River to photo ops at the Taj Mahal.  The power of being a hot pink woman came to light with the backdrop of this incredible and diverse culture.  The feelings we cultivated are covered in our blogtalk radio program on India.  www.blogtalkradio.com/hotpinkyou

December's 3rd Annual Holiday Buyer's Boutique gathers women entrepreneurs in the community and creates a warm event for those that come.

We share these highlights with you all in the gratitude that this work deserves.  For everyone of you that shared your time with us or learned from us or gathered with us...we wish you this time to reflect on your own year.  Were their down times in all of the above?  Absolutely, there were stressors and challenges and changes and growth and self-doubt and things that did not go as well as we desired...but, the focus on what went well creates more of the same.  The desire to manifest and attract what we want for ourselves and for each of you lies in the ability to see the right, the good, the celebrations.  Live with no regrets in 2016!

It is your birthright to feel successful, to feel joy, to feel connected to a powerful tribe of women who have your back!

Radical Self-Love: Part Three of Four

Part Three of Four Parts on Radical Self-Love Give Yourself the Gift of Forgiveness I once did something in my life so bad, so unforgiving...even just thinking back to it, makes me shudder and ask myself, "What the hell was I thinking?!"   I mean, this behavior was so against my values, my philosophy of life, that it bolted me out of self-love into self-loathing for quite some time...won't even share what it is...that's how bad! We've all done some things in life that when we look back at the video of our lives...it makes us want to block that little chunk out.   Or, maybe we react with rationalization or justification to our deed, "Well, he....", "Well, I did that, but what she did was so much worse." or "I wouldn't have done that if....." .   Wouldn't it be a heck of a lot easier to just admit our mistake, ask for forgiveness and move on.   Time heals all wounds...even the wounds we create.   People do move o

Have You Heard the News

The News We Don't Always Hear When you travel, you are immersed in the culture of the people.  Included in that culture is the news that does not always make the American papers.  On day two, we visit the central area of Guatemala city and at market is this small memorial.  Crosses, ashes in the center, flowers and a board painted with three girls swinging on swings all surrounding a central memorial plaque. Extending to the memorial are two ladders with the names of the 41 orphaned girls killed in a fire at an orphanage.  A mother of one of the girls stands vigil over the memorial, cooking and selling some food as people pass by and stumble upon the place honoring the young girls' lives.   When we use the term orphans in America, there are no parents.  Unicef estimates that of the 132 million orphans in the world, only 10% don't have parents.(1)  Conditions of poverty force parents across the world to leave their children to the social welfare systems of the co

The Art and Science of Giving and Receiving

The wrapping paper lays crumpled and strewn around the living room...you look at the tree in the corner and make plans to take it down before all of the needles become scattered throughout the house...you relish in the new memories created this past holiday season as you look towards the coming of 2013.   A new year, the symbol of do-overs and fresh starts in life. I love watching the faces of my kids, friends and loved ones as they open the "perfect" gift I chose for that person.   Whether it is the camping equipment for my step-son or the perfect socks for my daughter or the hammock for my son this past Christmas, it fills me with such great joy as I got it right !   How often do we get it "right" for us?   How often do we do for ourselves?   Women, the great caretakers of the world.   Naturally wired in our brains and chemistry...we nurture...others.   When it comes time to be the receiver of caretaking...we resist, we detour to the next available p
